Veterinary Virology and Vaccinology
The Veterinary Virology and Vaccinology Department is headed by Prof. Alain VANDERPLASSCHEN (dipl. ECVM).
The specialty of this area of expertise is to integrate and disseminate knowledge of general virology and vaccination concepts in the veterinary sector, integrating notions concerning their development and use.
Its missions encompass teaching, research and expertise.
Teaching activities in veterinary medicine include the following courses:
- VETE0453 teaching unit in the third year of the Bachelor's degree in veterinary medicine (Prof. Alain VANDERPLASSCHEN)
- VETE0063 teaching unit in the first year of the Master's degree in veterinary medicine (Prof. Alain VANDERPLASSCHEN)
3. Paraclinical modules for case-based reasoning in veterinary infectiology
- VETE2088 teaching unit in the second year of the Master's degree in veterinary medicine.
The veterinary vaccinology section of the DMI is also involved in:
- the supervision of final-year work by trainees from various faculties and graduate schools,
- continuing training for practising veterinarians.
